For schools in England, new Free School Meals information has been added to the Meal & Transport > Free School Meals popup.
What's New
▶ Free School Meals
Three new fields - FSM Category, Country, and Verification Date - along with an optional Notes section, have been added to the Free School Meals tab.
The new fields are also available to use in the existing Quick Edit > Free School Meal popup in the Student List.
You can choose from the following FSM Category options in the dropdown:
- Targeted FSM - covering pupils who are in households in receipt of Universal Credit with annual household earnings of £7,400 or less.
- Expanded FSM - a new category covering pupils who do not qualify for targeted FSM, but who are in households receiving Universal Credit.
- Other FSM - Additional types of FSM that schools might want to report on locally, for example, a pupil that a school chooses to provide free meals for, but who does not meet eligibility criteria. Pupils recorded with this code will not attract FSM funding from the department. This is not recorded in the Census.
▶ Student List
New columns have been added to the Student List to include FSM Eligibility Verification Date, FSM Expanded (Y/N) and FSM Targeted (Y/N).
▶ Reporting
FSM Category, FSM Country, FSM Eligibility Verification Date, and FSM Notes are available within Quick Reports within the Students domain.
▶ Note: For all existing FSM records:
- FSM Category will be assigned as Targeted FSM.
- Verification Date will be left blank - Census validation will trigger to remind the schools to check this record.
- Country defaults to the school location.
