Census - New "Pupil Level Annual School Census (PLASC)" page

A new menu option Pupil Level Annual School Census (PLASC) has been added to the Census module for all schools in Wales which captures pupil level data.
Initially users will see two panels:
- In the Census Parameters panel, the Reference Date will be set to the default date and time (the start of the third period), though it can be adjusted if necessary. Exclusions data will be gathered for the previous academic year.
- Clicking on Edit in the School Details panel will direct the user to Config > Administration > Core Details in a new page.
After clicking Generate, additional panels will appear based on your school type, allowing users to Add, Edit, and Remove entries.
The majority of schools will see the following additional panels:
- Completion Time
- Record the time spent (in hours) in generating returns for each of the roles involved. There will be one row for each of the following roles, and these rows can be edited:
- Headteacher
- Acting head teachers
- Deputy Headteacher
- Assistant head teachers
- Other Teacher
- Other administration staff
- School Business Manager or equivalent
- Other
- Local Authority Staff
- Class Information
- Primary schools will need to complete the row for each class and click Add New to add a new class. For columns A to N users can click on the i icon to open the list of reasons for exception.
- Secondary schools will have these rows partially populated with timetabled class information.
- Free Meals Taken
- Tick the Free Meal Taken check box for applicable students.
- Special Class Pupils
- Identify the number of pupils from within their own LEA or from Other School LEA.
- Full Time Teaching Staff Teachers
- Part Time Teaching Staff Teachers
- Support Staff
- Teaching of Welsh
Depending on your school type, you may also see further additional panels. For example;
Secondary schools will see one further additional panel:
- Sources of Funding
- For Post 16 sources of funding
Primary schools will see these further additional panels:
- Breakfasts
- For breakfasts hosted in school, but with data supplied by an external provider.
- Paid Meals Taken
- Tick the Paid Meal Taken check box for applicable students.
Upon completion users should Save the census. Save & Validate will save the Census and generate a XML file which can then be viewed.
Upon validating the census, users are able to select a single census and click View File to download the file.
