The following new options have been added to the toolbar with their own dedicated icons:

  • Add/Remove Students (mentioned below)
  • Select (mentioned below)
  • Remove all Students clears all seating allocations without a confirmation warning.
  • Save Seating Plan with Students which ensures allocations are retained after saving. Layouts are not auto-saved so must be saved using this option.

Add/Remove Students

  • The new Add/Remove Students sidebar can be toggled on and off by clicking on the Add/Remove Students option in the toolbar.
  • Students can be allocated seats manually by dragging and dropping student tiles from the sidebar to the classroom canvas or you can use the Auto Allocate button.
  • The sidebar also includes a student count that updates as you allocate seats. Students can also be allocated seats in full-screen mode.
  • Partial searches are possible and this will filter in real-time as you type. At any time when conducting a search or partial search you can auto-allocate the filtered students.

Select students

  • A new Select button has been added to the toolbar. When the checkbox is ticked, all students are selected; unticking it deselects all students.
  • Clicking the Select button activates Select mode and highlights the button in blue. In this mode, users can also select or deselect individual students by clicking their tile, allowing individual selections without affecting the entire group.
  • When Select is active it will display a count of how many students have been selected out of the total placed on the seating plan.

Enhancements to Existing Features

Furniture Library

  • The Furniture Library now includes resizable tables in various shapes. Dragging the corner or edge of any new square or round table will expand or shrink the table, increasing or decreasing the number of seats.
        • Square table:
              • Remain as a single seat (as in the previous interface) unless expanded.
              • Can be expanded to a maximum of five seats in a row.
              • Can be expanded to a maximum of five seats per side.
              • Can be also be expanded to a maximum of five seats by five seats.
        • Round tables can have between three and six seats.
        • Hexagon tables cannot be resized.
  • Erase Canvas button removes all furniture.

  • You can delete any table on the canvas by right clicking on it and selecting Remove Furniture.

  • Clicking on a seat still changes the direction it faces, rotating clockwise. Each seat's direction will be retained unless the seat is deleted.

  • A Front of the Classroom panel shows you the orientation of the room within the Seating Plan. This can be flipped with a click.

Collision Detection
If a user tries to place furniture where furniture already exists a red outline will display to show the action cannot be completed. The outline disappears when the furniture is moved to an area it can be placed.

Printing

We have added a new option to the Print icon. The new Room Layout option prints furniture only. Both options feature live preview and auto fit-to-page scaling. If printing while in Projector Mode sensitive information will not be printed.

Select Random Student

The new Select Random Student pop up shows full name, a photo (if one exists), year group and User Defined Flags. It no longer shows assessment or attendance data. The icons are not shown in Projector Mode. The pop up can be closed by either clicking the Close box or clicking away from the pop up. Hovering over a flag will display a tooltip. This also applies to student tiles on the Seating Plan.
