Finance users can now import Opening Balance Journal Lines directly from an Excel file, simplifying the process of transferring closing balances from previous finance systems into Bromcom. This feature reduces manual entry errors and saves time when creating opening balance journals, especially for larger schools with extensive data.
Key Features:
The Import button is now available in the Opening Balance Journal, located between the "Add Lines" and "View/Edit Selected" options. Users can upload Excel files to populate journal lines automatically. The import template can be generated by exporting the Opening Balance Journal grid as a CSV file using the grid actions on the Journal Lines .
The following fields are required for the import:
Validation ensures users cannot post to non-balance sheet accounts (e.g., IN, EX, or ES ledger codes). Invalid rows are skipped, and a summary of imported and ignored rows is displayed after the upload.
This update also introduces a thousand separator for the Balance field, enhancing readability.
These enhancements streamline journal entry creation, improving accuracy and efficiency for Finance users.
