Attendance - Updates to Attendance Codes 2025/2026

New Attendance Codes Added (2025/2026)
For schools in Northern Ireland the following Authorised Absence - Subcodes (Statutory Attendance Codes) have been added:
- Code I: I4 – Illness EBSNA
- Code O: O1 – Other exceptional circumstances (default) and O2 – Temporary exceptions to the curriculum
Attendance Codes Made Inactive (2025/2026)
To prevent incorrect usage, the following Attendance Codes > Subcodes have been removed for the 2025/2026 academic year:
- F: Family Holiday (Agreed)
- I: I2 – COVID-19 Illness Confirmed
- I: I3 – COVID-19 Illness Suspected / Unconfirmed
- H: H2 – COVID-19 Self-Isolating (Vulnerable Pupil or Household)
- H: H3 – COVID-19 Self-Isolating (No Evidence of Learning from Home)
- 2: 2B – COVID-19 Self-Isolating & Learning from Home
- 2: 2C – COVID-19 Learning from Home – Social Distancing
These codes remain available for historic attendance data for 2024/2025 and related census reporting.
