Attendance – Custom Code Allocation Update

A defect affecting the creation of spare attendance codes in Welsh schools has been resolved.
Some schools reported receiving the error: "You cannot create new mark. Because you have already used all available marks"
This occurred when attempting to add an unused attendance code (for example, “A”) via Config > Attendance > Attendance Codes, even though the code had not been allocated.
The validation logic has been updated to allow schools in Wales to create custom top-level attendance codes using any letters not already defined by the Welsh Government (WG).
No changes have been made to the custom code workflow.
Functionality now aligns with the attendance code setup.

This update ensures that schools can create and use all valid custom attendance marks in line with local policy, without encountering false “all marks used” errors.
