This update ensures that schools only see statutory return dates relevant to their region in the School Diary, preventing confusion and improving accuracy in return preparation.
Removes England statutory return dates from diaries for schools in Wales and Northern Ireland.
Ensures each region’s schools see only the dates applicable to their statutory returns.
Key Changes
England Schools – flagged dates now include:
School Census – 1st Thursday in October (2 October 2025), 3rd Thursday in January (15 January 2026), and 3rd Thursday in May (21 May 2026).
School Workforce Census – 1st Thursday in November (6 November 2025).
Wales Schools – flagged dates now include:
PLASC – 20 January 2026 (all schools).
SWAC – 4 November 2025 (all schools).
Primary Attendance – 20 July 2026 (Primary & Middle schools only).
Secondary Attendance – 22 May 2026 (Middle & Secondary schools only).
Post-16 Return – 31 July 2026 (schools with post-16 provision, i.e., NC Year 12 or 13 in School Characteristics).
Schools will now see only the statutory return dates that apply to their country, reducing clutter in the School Diary and helping staff focus on relevant deadlines.
