Modules > Curriculum > Routines > Apply Timetable Model
We have enhanced the Apply Timetable Model page to give you greater control over how arranged cover and non-contact codes (NCCs) are handled when applying a timetable model.
What's New
- The page has been redesigned with a clearer layout and improved organisation of settings.
- New Cover and Non-Contact Codes panels let you control how existing arranged cover, swaps, and NCCs are managed when applying a timetable model.
- An information icon has been added to the page title, providing guidance on how timetable model periods map to MIS periods.
- Timetable Model, Date Range, and Classes options are now grouped under dedicated sections for easier navigation.
- Classes clearing options have been updated so that NCCs are not affected:
- Clear their timetables in the selected range clears MIS extra classes only, within the selected date range. NCCs are not affected.
- Do not clear their timetables retains existing MIS extra classes only, within the selected date range. NCCs are not affected.
The new Cover panel includes the question: Keep any arranged cover for the selected date range?
This setting determines whether existing arranged cover and swaps are retained when the timetable model is applied.
If you select No
All arranged cover and swaps (Modules > Cover > Arrange Cover) for the selected date range are removed, including:

The following records (Modules > Cover) are not affected:
- Room Closures

- Staff Absences
- Suspend Classes

▶ Non-Contact Codes Panel
The Non-Contact Codes panel includes the question: How should Non-Contact Codes be treated?
This setting controls how existing NCCs in the MIS, and new NCCs in the applied model are handled.
Keep all existing NCC
- All existing NCCs in the MIS are preserved.
- NCCs from the applied model are not added.
- Note: When an applied model has teaching sessions that clash with existing NCCs in the MIS, the teaching sessions have priority over the NCCs. The session is highlight red in Staff > Staff Details > Action > Staff Timetabling > Manage Non-Contact Codes. You can right-click session to remove the NCC update the page and the clash will disappear.
- Note: If a timetable model includes teaching sessions that clash with existing NCCs in the MIS, the teaching sessions take priority. Clashing sessions are highlighted in red in Staff > Staff Details > Actions > Staff Timetabling > Manage Non-Contact Codes. To resolve the clash, right-click the session to remove the NCC and refresh the page. The clash indicator will then be removed.
Replace all with NCC from the new model
- All existing NCCs in the MIS will be removed and replaced with NCCs from the new model.
Supplement existing with new NCC
- All existing NCCs in the MIS will be preserved. Missing NCCs from the new model will be added where applicable. Existing NCCs will take priority over NCCs in the new model.
Note: To select Process, you must answer the questions in both Cover and Non-Contact Codes panels.
Important: Cover arrangements and swaps can only be preserved when a session/NCC in wTimetable exactly matches the corresponding session in the timetable model. If there are any differences, the associated cover or swap information cannot be retained.
