MCAS - Report absence now with time periods

MyChildAtSchool > Dashboard > Attendance

Parents can now record both full-day and partial-day absences. This enhancement allows absence entries for specific time periods within the school day.

Please refer to the original release note MCAS - Parents can notify the school of child's absence through MCAS for full details of the process.

New Features:

  • 'Time' checkbox: "Select a time only if your child will be arriving late or leaving early during the school day"
        • Checked: Time pickers remain unlocked, mandatory, and enabled.
        • Unchecked: Time pickers become locked and disabled.
  • 'Time From' Selector:
        • Allows parents to select the time from which the student will be absent.
        • Defaults to the Morning Begins time set in Config > Curriculum > Period Structures.
        • Displays time options in 5-minute increments.
  • 'Time To' Selector:
        • Allows parents to specify when the student will return to school.
        • Defaults to:
              • Post-primary/Secondary: Last period start time + last period duration from the active period structure (excluding wrap-around care).
              • Primary: 3:30 PM.
        • Displays time options in 5-minute increments.
        • Time selection is limited to:
              • Post-primary/Secondary: End of the active period structure as above.
              • Primary: 5:00 PM.
