Options - Timetable Patterns: Reallocate Student Choices
Modules > Options > Timetable Patterns
Users can now reallocate students within a timetable pattern using a new Auto-Allocate feature. This allows for greater flexibility and optimisation of student placement, whether to reassign all students or only those currently unallocated—based on their preferences and system allocation rules.
This update allows users to modify a pattern's allocations, and compare the results with the original or other patterns.
Key Functionality
A new Auto-Allocate button is available on individual Pattern pages.- Manual Patterns: Button is disabled until a pattern is generated.
- Automatic Patterns: Button is enabled once the pattern is generated.
When clicked, users are presented with two allocation options:
- Auto-allocate unassigned student choices (default option)
- Unassigned students will be allocated during this process where possible.
- If all students are allocated, this option will be disabled.
- After clicking Proceed, a warning message will appear: 'Do you want to continue? This process will automatically allocate all unassigned student choices'.
- Reallocate all student choices
- All unlocked students will be reallocated during this process.
- After clicking Proceed, a warning message will appear: 'Do you want to continue? This process will automatically reallocate all unlocked student choices.'
In both cases, after proceeding, users will receive a success message indicating that the process is running in the background and may take a few minutes. A notification will confirm when the process is complete.
