Reporting - New Standard Timetable Report

Reports > Curriculum > Timetable

We are pleased to announce that we have introduced a new Standard Timetable option alongside the existing Custom Date Range functionality in Timetable reports.

You can now print a Standard Timetable for Students and Teachers, showing all days in a typical timetable week. This view excludes diary events such as school closures, bank holidays, and cover. For multiple week timetables, week 1 is always shown first, regardless of the selected date.

Options are also available to include Withdrawal Groups (students and teachers) and Non Contact Codes (teachers) if necessary.

What's New

▶ Standard Timetable

A new Standard Timetable radio button has been added and is selected by default when accessing the page.

    Key Features:

    • Info Tooltip (i) - Displays the following guidance outlining the differences between using Standard Timetable and Custom Date Range.

    • Effective On date - You can choose Today, or a Custom Date (which defaults to today). This allows you to generate timetables for a specific date, such as a future date in the academic year. The data is based on class memberships as of the selected Effective On date,  and excludes diary events such as school closures, bank holidays, and cover.

    • All report parameters can be configured, except for Cover and Detentions. In the Standard Timetable, these two parameters are read-only and are automatically set to exclude both Cover and Detentions.

    • Student View
        • An Include Withdrawal Groups option is available and selected by default.
        • If a student belongs to a withdrawal group the timetable shows the withdrawal group details instead of the original class.
        • This applies when the Effective On date falls within the withdrawal group’s date range.
        • If it is not selected the original class will be shown.
        • Withdrawal Groups can be found under: Groups > Group Type: Withdrawal Groups.

    • Teacher View
      • The option to Include Withdrawal Groups and Include Non Contact Codes is available, with both selected by default.
      • Teachers assigned to withdrawal groups or Non-Contact Codes will see these reflected in their timetable.
      • This applies when the Effective On date falls within the withdrawal group’s and non-contact codes date range.
      • If it is not selected the original class will be shown.
      • Non Contact Codes can be found under: Staff > Staff List > Actions > Staff Timetabling > Manage Non-Contact Codes.

    ▶ Custom Date Range

Custom Date Range is existing functionality that has been repositioned beneath the Standard Timetable option and clearly labelled.

    • Selecting this option deselects Standard Timetable
    • The Effective On date becomes read-only
    • Enables:
          • Week(s) Start date
          • Week(s) End date
    • All parameters (including Cover) function as per existing behaviour
    • The data is based on academic/diary events for the selected dates and includes school closures, bank holidays, cover, and Non Contact Codes (NCCs).
