This release introduces two new modules to the Student Portal, which are also being launched simultaneously in the Student App. Full details of the app updates are available in the linked release note.
Config > Student Portal > Behaviour
The existing Enable Detentions checkbox, previously used to display scheduled detentions in a student’s timetable, has been enhanced. When selected, detentions will now appear in the student timetable, Student Portal, and Student App.
In the Student Portal, this will add a Detentions widget to the Dashboard and a Detentions menu item. In the Student App, it will add a Detentions module to the Modules screen.
Student Portal > Detentions
The Detentions page is organised into two sections:
Student Portal > Dashboard
The Detentions widget provides an overview of upcoming detentions. Click More to open the full Detentions page.
Config > Setup > Roles & Permissions
The existing Behaviour permission must be enabled within the Student Portal module for the appropriate roles.
Modules > Student Portal > Configuration > Important Documents
Staff with the appropriate permissions can now upload documents via the new Important Documents configuration page. These documents will appear in the Important Documents menu item in the Student Portal and in the Important Documents module in the Student App.
To enable this feature in both the Student Portal and the Student App, select the Enable Important Documents checkbox.
To add a document, select Add New Important Document to open the Important Document Maintenance popup. Documents can be uploaded for specific Groups Types (Department, Faculty, Report Group, Subject, Teaching Class, Tutor Group, and Year Group on Roll).
The Important Documents page displays a table of important documents. Use the Search bar to quickly locate documents. Click View to open PDF documents in a new tab. Other files will download automatically.
Config > Setup > Roles And Permissions
The new Important Documents permission must be enabled within the Student Portal module for the appropriate roles.
