Student Portal - Introducing Detentions and Important Documents

This release introduces two new modules to the Student Portal, which are also being launched simultaneously in the Student App. Full details of the app updates are available in the linked release note.

  • Important Documents – providing students with quick access to key documents in one place
  • Detentions – allowing students to clearly view their detention information within the platform

Detentions

Config > Student Portal > Behaviour

The existing Enable Detentions checkbox, previously used to display scheduled detentions in a student’s timetable, has been enhanced. When selected, detentions will now appear in the student timetable, Student Portal, and Student App.

In the Student Portal, this will add a Detentions widget to the Dashboard and a Detentions menu item. In the Student App, it will add a Detentions module to the Modules screen.

The Detentions page is organised into two sections:

  • Detentions Coming Up: Displays a weekday view (Monday to Friday) of detentions for the current week. Users can navigate to future or past weeks within the current academic year using the left and right arrows.
  • All Detentions: Lists all upcoming detentions. The view can be filtered by Detention Type and Subject
