wTimetable - Scheduling: New 'Max one session per day' rule in Timetable Specifications

Modules > wTimetable > Scheduling > Actions > Timetable Specifications

A new Max one session per day rule has been added to the Blocks on days tab in Timetable Specifications, enabling users to enforce a daily scheduling limit for each block. Under this rule, a selected block period may be scheduled only once per calendar day.

After clicking Add New Row, complete the following fields to create the rule:
  • Year Group
  • Block
  • Rule=Max one session per day
  • Period Limit does not apply to this rule.
Note: If multiple blocks are included, each block is limited to one session per day and is scheduled independently of the others.

Visual Indicators

When a user attempts to manually schedule a block period that breaks the Max one session per day rule, teaching periods will be highlighted in amber to indicate a potential scheduling conflict, and an alert notification will appear in the top-right corner for the session you are attempting to schedule. However, the user can still proceed to manually schedule a session.

Note
  • A double session is treated as a single session. Therefore, scheduling a double session for a block on the same day does not breach the “Max one session per day” rule.
  • Similarly, linked periods combined into one group are considered a single session. Scheduling one group of linked block periods on the same day does not breach the “Max one session per day” rule.
