Setup - Windows Alert Client Moved to Web
Config > Setup > Alert Delivery Settings
The existing Windows Alert Client has been moved into the Web and will be delivered via Browser Notifications and email Alerts, based on the Alert Watchers defined under Alert Delivery Settings. For this a new page Alert Delivery Settings has been added, where Staff can be added as an Alert Watcher and the Alerts they will be notified about selected by ticking the boxes for one or more of the Alert Types.
Note: All Alert Watchers will need to be setup by the Bromcom Administrator, this includes those currently receiving Alerts.
Note: This option will NOT work with the Safari browser.
When a newly added Alert Watcher logs into the MIS, they will be prompted with an Action Needed Message, telling them they are an Alert Watcher and they need to enable their device, selecting Allow or Block. Previously sent Alerts can be viewed by clicking on your Image top right and selecting View Alerts.
Note: You will be asked to Allow or Block on each different device you use to login and on different browsers.
There have been no changes to the Send Alert option, which ALL Users have access to.
The Alert Watcher will receive a Notification with the Alert Type and Details, clicking on the Notification will open the Alert where they can reply.
Note: If the Send email for alerts option was selected on the Alert Delivery Settings page and email will also be sent to their Work email.
Note: The existing Alert Client option will be discontinued before the next Academic Year.
