Modules > wTimetable > Scheduling
Visual indicators have been added to the Scheduling page to help users more easily identify and manage sessions that break the following Timetable Specification rules:
- Subject relationships
- Subject on days - 'Not Available' rule only
When scheduling sessions, an amber indicator will appear in the period header to show that one or more sessions have a conflict. All sessions can still be scheduled, but a popup message will display details of the conflict, for example:
"Rule 'Subject Relationships' (Must not be on the same day) is broken. Subject Art must not be scheduled on the same day as Design & Technology."
Note: In the example below, a Subject Relationship rule states that “Subject Art must not be scheduled on the same day as Design & Technology.” Visual indicators appear if DT is scheduled first and the user tries to schedule Art on the same day, and the conflict is also shown in the Conflicts popup. However, if Art is scheduled first and the user tries to schedule DT on the same day, the visual indicators do not appear, though the conflict still shows in the Conflicts popup. To fully cover this scenario, a second rule—“Subject DT must not be scheduled on the same day as Art”—would need to be created.
Green Indicator: The Period header will be shaded green when all sessions can be scheduled without any conflicts.
If a session is scheduled that will cause a conflict, conflicts can still be viewed in the Conflicts popup.
Note: Blocks on Days visual indicators will be introduced in a future release.
